Raindrops in my balcony :)

After a long dry spell, I woke up to the pitter patter of rain drops yesterday morning.
I was dying for the rains, the heat had become unbearable. For the past 7-8 years I have always associated monsoons with only one place that is Pune.
If you have lived in Pune, you cannot miss Sinhagad on a weekend in the rains.I still cant have enough of those kanda bhaji and chaai at Sinhagad. And as I keep telling anyone who cares to listen Pune is the best city in the monsoons.Overnight it turns into a hill station. This belief is supported by the fact that I have always lived in areas like Pimpri and Pashan in Pune. Both these places are far off from the hustle bustle of the city and turn into a mini hill station.Well that actually brings me to THE hill station near Pune,Lonavala..Even this place is worth a visit during monsoons. But I guess with it becoming a mini Bombay every weekend it is fast becoming the traffic, pollution and chaos capital among the hill stations in Maharashtra.

So that was just a part of the monsoon nostalgia. Will surely write more on it someday

So this year I have been missing pune like never before.I was never so nostalgic about a city, especially since I have stayed at almost 6-7 places across India. But yes my longest stay has been in Pune.So yesterday morning I woke to the pitter patter of rain in my balcony. That was reason enough to cheer me up.The newspapaer screamed its heart saying 'Monsoon comes knocking on AP's door '

I put down a few words in that euphoric mood

It rained last night
and she smiled
She smiled for those
old rainy days
Days when time flew by
Moments that still linger on
She smiled in the memory
of those days
She smiled for the new
rains and new moments
For the new plant of hope
the rains planted in her heart

It rained in the morning and not at night :) and yes I did remember the good old days of college, Sinhagad and fun in the rains.

P.S : As I write this the rains have again taken a break :( Just hoping and praying for the rains.Pray for the farmers, pray for the crop, pray for the rains...
